Title [sv]
Ärftlighet i timingförmågor och sambandet mellan kognition och timing
Title [en]
Heritability of timing abilities and the cognition-timing correlation
Abstract [sv]
The project aims to provide more knowledge about the neural basis for cognitive and timing ability, by investigating the separate as well as the common heritability of both types of performance (including reaction time data). This provides an important amendment to experimental approaches to model and explain findings of substantial correlations between cognitive performance and timing performance. The project will use data from twins, some of which we have already obtained (n = 3,071) and some of which we will obtain in 2011-2012 (n > 5,000). The results regarding timing ability and reaction time will be novel, and a substantial contribution to the literature in their own right. Results regarding the common and unique genetic influence on respective abilities will be valuable for furthering our understanding of these processes and their genetic and neural basis.
