Abstract [sv]

Bildterapeuterna i skolan hade väldigt specifika mål.

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to highlight art therapist’s descriptions of their work with art therapy in Swedish schools in relation to other art therapists in Sweden. The method was a questionnaire, constructed by Vassiliki Karkou, a researcher from Great Britain. The questionnaire was sent during 2010 to 152 art therapists, members in SRBt. The result showed that the art therapists in school’s always worked alone. Half of the other art therapists worked in teams with other professions. Winnicott’s theory was an important theoretical influence for both groups. Both groups mainly worked with clients who had social difficulties, emotional and behavioral difficulties. The art therapists in schools all worked towards very specific aims, compared to 2/3 of the other art therapists. The new law for schools matches descriptions of art therapy where the key words are creativity, health promotion and prevention work.
