Abstract [en]
This project challenges the prevailing paradigm of complete control in intelligent interfaces designed to assist us in navigating daily life. It explores how the aesthetics of the out-of-control, inspired by natural phenomena, can elicit a richer experience than mere efficiency. Biomimicry, as an approach, offers a more-than-human perspective that prompts us to reconsider current experience patterns.
This project proposes a bio-recipe for software design that illustrates how existing interaction patterns could be transformed into organic interaction principles by drawing inspiration from bio-signals. This concept is embodied in an organic software store, demonstrated through six speculative softwares: TidePost, SunMap, WeatherCountdown, CuriousCamera, WaitChat, and FairPhonebook.
Integrating designer's personal belief about co-living in the future, this interaction design practice serves as an example of how to involve nature as a stakeholder in participatory design processes, aiming to illustrate a healthier relationship between human, nature, and technology.
