Abstract [sv]

Syftet med studien var att beskriva personers upplevelser av att ha deltagit i bildterapi i grupp. Syftet var också att belysa deras upplevelser av att använda egna och andras bilder, samt reflektionerna över bilderna. Studien genomfördes med kvalitativ metod. Sex deltagare som hade genomgått bildterapi i grupp intervjuades. Data analyserades med kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Resultatet presenterades som sex teman. Det första temat handlade om helhetsupplevelse av bildterapin och speglade deltagarnas upplevelser av en ny och i huvudsak positiv erfarenhet. Övriga fem teman var emotionell upplevelse, bli synliggjord, ökad medvetenhet och insikt, personligt och gemensamt samt förändringsprocessen. Slutsatsen i studien är att bildterapi främst upplevdes kunna väcka känslor, befrämja känsla av att bli sedd och känsla av ökad medvetenhet och insikt. Deltagarna uppmärksammade också bildprocessen som en synliggörare av och katalysator för förändringsprocessen.

Abstract [en]

The aim of the study was to describe people's experience of having participated in the art therapy group. The aim was also to highlight their experiences of using their own and others images, as well as the reflections of the images. The study was conducted using qualitative methodology. Six participants who had undergone art therapy group were interviewed. Data were analyzed using qualitative content analysis. The results was presented in six themes. The first theme was the overall experience of art therapy and reflected the participants' perceptions of a new and largely positive experience. The other five themes were emotional experience, become visible, awareness and understanding, personally and collectively, and the change process. The conclusion of the study is that art therapy was perceived primarily to arouse emotions, promote a feeling of being seen and a sense of awareness and insight. Participants also highlighted the image process as a visualizer of and catalyst for change
