Syftet med denna studie var att undersöka huruvida VO

2max påverkar effekten av mental trötthet på reaktionsförmågan och prestationsförmågan hos Counter Strike Global Offensive (CSGO) spelare. Sex stycken testpersoner, med blandad könsfördelning i åldern 19-23 år (M = 21±1.6) rekryterades för studien. Metoden bestod av två testdagar och en interventionsperiod. Testdagarna, som skedde före och efter interventionsperioden, bestod av en mätning av VO2max följt av mätningar på reaktionssnabbhet och spelprestation både före och efter mental trötthet. Interventionsperioden bestod av tre veckors "all out" intervaller tre gånger i veckan. Resultatet visar signifikant samband mellan förändringar i VO2max och effekten av mental trötthet på reaktionssnabbheten. Vidare studier behövs inom detta område för att kunna säkerställa resultaten.

Abstract [en]

The aim of this study was to investigate whether VO

2max affects the effect of mental fatigue on reaction times and performance in Counter Strike Global Offensive (CSGO) players. Six participants, with mixed genders, aged 19-23 (M = 21±1.6) were recruited for the study. The method consisted of two test days and an intervention period. The test days, which occurred before and after the intervention period, consisted of a measurement of VO2max followed by measurements of reaction times and game performance both before and after mental fatigue. The intervention period consisted of three weeks of "all out" intervals three times a week. The results show significant correlation between changes in VO2max and the effect of mental fatigue on reaction time. Further studies are needed in this area to ensure more reliable results.
