Abstract [en]

The aim of this study was to examine whether there are significant differences inprocrastination and life-satisfaction between different types of affective personality groupsamong university students at Örebro University. The study had a convenience sample where285 university students participated. Data was collected through self-report measures whereSatisfaction With Life Scale (SWLS) was used to measure life satisfaction, PureProcrastination Scale (PPS) to measure procrastination and Positive and Negative AffectSchedule (PANAS) was used to measure the affective personality types: self actualizing, lowaffective, high affective and self-destructive group. The results showed significant meandifferences between procrastination and life-satisfaction between the four affective personalitygroups. The self-actualizing group showed to procrastinate significantly less than all the otheraffective groups. The self-actualizing group also had the highest levels of life satisfaction incomparison to the other affective groups. Moreover, the self-destructive affect group showedhigher levels of procrastination than the low-affective group and lower levels of lifesatisfactionthan the high affective group.
