Matrix elements derivation using the factorization method

Abstract [en]

The aim of this work is to derive a formula for the construction of matrix elements for any possible n and l quantum numbers, such that, the expression for this elements should be valid for diagonal elements, as well as for sub-diagonal elements. This elements will be derived by using the results listed by Infeld and Hull in their article "The factorization method". The factorization method is shown to be appropriate for the calculation of matrix elements of the form <n,l|rk|n',l'>, as well as for the derivation of expectation values of the form <n,l|rk|n,l>. These elements will be derived for hydrogen radial wave functions that may belong for dierent quantum states.
