Abstrakt

Syfte: Beskriva vårdpersonalens erfarenheter att möta unga patienter (13-20 år) med substansmissbruk.

Bakgrund: Substansmissbruk är ett växande problem hos unga. Utveckling av missbruk bland unga personer förändras snabbt och den vetenskapliga kunskapen utvecklas i långsam takt. Konsekvenser av missbruket leder till förlust av hälsa, livskvalitet och välfärd över tid.

Det är av vikt att vid omvårdnad uppmärksamma faktorer som kan påverka kommunikation och interaktion mellan vårdare och missbrukare.

Metod: Studien bygger på intervjuer med tolv informanter som kommer i kontakt med unga med substansmissbruk i sin dagliga verksamhet. Alla intervjuer transkriberades ordagrant och analyserade med hjälp av kvalitativ innehållsanalys.

Resultat: Vårdpersonalens upplevelser av möten med substansmissbrukande unga kunde sammanföras under kategorierna Lyhördhet och följsamhet, Patient- och personalrelaterde problem samt Utmaningar i relationsarbetet.

Slutsats: Vårdpersonalen upplever ett flertal patient-, personal- och organisationsrelaterade faktorer som är av vikt för att bygga upp en bra relation med unga patienter med substansmissbruk och att de små individrelaterade detaljerna i mötet kan vara avgörande för en lyckad vård och omsorg.

Abstract [en]

Aim: To describe health professionals experiences to meet young patients (13-20 years) with substance abuse.Background: Substance abuse is a growing problem among young patients. Development of substance abuse among young people is changing rapidly and scientific knowledge is not developing at the same rate. It is important to pay attention to factors that may be the basis for the abuse, as it deteriorates the youth's forecast.Consequences of abuse lead to youth's loss of health, quality of life and welfare over time.Method: The study is based on interviews with twelve informants who come into contact with young/young adults with substance addiction in their daily activities. All interviews were ordinarily transcribed and analyzed using qualitative content analysis.Result: Health professional experiences of meetings with substance abuse young people could be combined under the categories "Soundness and Compliance, Patient and Staff-Related Issues and Challenges in Relationship. Conclusion: Health professionals believe that a number of patient, staff and organizational factors are important for building a good relationship with young patients with substance abuse and that the small individual-related details in the meeting can be crucial for successful care
