Abstract [en]
Background: Sexual assault is consensually endorsed to be a crime against humanity. It is a violence and aggression and carries a continuum of sexual activity that ranges from sexual coercion to contact abuse to rape.Sexual violence is defined as: “any sexual act, attempt to obtain a sexual act, unwanted sexual comments or advances, or acts to traffic, or otherwise directed, against a person’s sexuality using coercion, by any person regardless of their relationship to the victim, in any setting, including but not limited to home and work”.Rape is an act of forced sexual intercourse, even if minor. The invasion of any part of the body with a penis and/or the invasion of the sexual organ parts or anal orifice with either an object or parts of the body. The attempt to do so is known as attempted rape. However, sexual violence can also include other forms of assault involving a sexual organ, including coerced contact between the mouth and penis, vulva or anus.In response to the complex nature of the problem, addressing the health needs of the survivors and ensuring access of health care services is very essential. This requires a research based continuous, coordinated and an effective intervention. Furthermore, we need to know the quality of care from the client perspective to ensure a higher satisfaction rate. However, in Ethiopia there is no such evidence regarding this research question.
Objective: The general objective of this study is to assess client’s or client guardian perceived experience and satisfaction with the post-sexual violence services delivered at one-stop center in Gandhi memorial hospital who visited the center from June 1, 2018- November 15, 2019.
Method: A cross sectional study will be conducted on female clients and clients’ guardian who received care from the One-stop centre for the first time during the study period. The data will be collected using a standardized questionnaire as an exit interview. After gathering the data, it will be entered in to Stata software, then it will be coded cleaned, edited, if possible, and then analyzed by using Stata version 15 statistical software package by the principal investigator.
Work Plan and Budget: The five months’ data is intended to be collected during the study period; with a Total Unallocated Budget of 104,610-Birr.
