Portfolios are an essential tool for professionals in various fields for showcasing their skills and accomplishments. This study aims to investigate which key factors make up a successful portfolio with an emphasis on web-based portfolios in the media industry. An important aspect of a web portfolio is how it is perceived and what it communicates, which plays an important role in how the user interprets you as a person and potential employee. Through a qualitative research method, the writers managed to find that simplicity, clarity, and balance are what together make a successful web portfolio. By gathering data through interviews along with conducting research related to the subject prior to the study, the authors managed to generate a broader and deeper understanding of this subject which has helped conclude the study.
