The good company : An It consulting company's work with sustainability (English)
Abstract [en]

Sustainability is an ever-growing topic fortoday’sorganizations. What type ofleadership and strategic planningorganizations employ, plays an integral part in how well sustainabilityis integrated into theirwork processesand the sustainability of their products. This paper aims to study the leadership for green of anIT-consultant firm, in hopes to find out how theystrive towards sustainabilityin theirsoftware development projects, and the outcome of said projects. Employees on differentlevels throughout theorganizationare interviewed about their experienceregarding the topic and later in the analysis chapter compared for similarities and or differences with our theoretical framework based on previous literature and research about the topics in our theoretical framework: green software, lifecycle, leadership, strategy, tools, and stakeholders. The result ofthis study shows that sustainability is an area of concern for the organization that was the subject of our case study.Thoughstrides have been made in socialsustainabilityand equality, not as much progress has been made regarding the software that is being produced. The lackofadequatetools used indeveloping greener softwareis an apparent causebut more importantly, the lack ofsustainability in the demands from customershamper the progress for more eco-friendly software.
