This study explored versioning challenges that digital creative workflows often present to users. The purpose of this paper was to investigate potential solutions towards a seamless and efficient workflow for creative media producers that aligns with global sustainability goals. Through a collaborative effort with industry professionals and laymen, this study has indicated some intricacies of creative version control implementations. It has been concluded that the versioning needs of creative workflows can extend beyond those of the software industry while sharing some of the core consequences. It is argued that any successful attempt at an implementation is likely to address those nuances. This study hopes to serve as a stepping stone for more elaborate inquiries, as per the apparent need thereof.
