This thesis aims to compare unemployment rates between native- and foreign-born people in Sweden using the Beveridge curve. The dataset contains aggregated data from 2008 to 2022 for Swedish municipalities. The variables were chosen to link the empirical model to established economic theory on the Beveridge curve. The variables included in the empirical analysis are vacancy rate, year dummy and municipality dummy. Three regression models are specified and estimated: model 1 is pooled OLS regression with respect to year dummies, model 2 is fixed effects regression with respect to year dummies and model 3 is a pooled OLS regression with respect to municipality dummies. The results show significant differences in shifts of the Beveridge curve if someone is native-born or foreign-born.
