Rotating Key Pad: A proposal for an encryption algorithm based on the One-Time-Pad and Vigenère

Abstract [en]

This thesis proposes a new cipher based on the One-Time-Pad and the Vigenère cipher, the Rotating Key Pad (RKP), which does not rely on unproven conjectures on computationally hard problems such as factorization, unlike widely used encryption methods such as RSA. The thesis describes two versions of the RKP, the RKP-1 and the RKP-2, and shows that while the former can be easily broken, the RKP-2 is secure against all known attacks.
