Abstract [en]
In a quest to redefine the boundaries of modern living, I advocate for the embrace of off-grid architecture. Off-grid living embodies a lifestyle that transcends conventional norms, inviting individuals to forge a harmonious relationship with nature while cultivating a sense of autonomy.
Off-grid living is a departure from a reliance on centralized utilities and infrastructure, towards where individuals generate their own power, manage their own water supply, and utilize sustainable methods for waste management. Inhabitants reclaim control over their basic needs and reduce their ecological footprint. Adopting a self-sufficiency through decentralized systems for energy, water, and waste management is a choice rooted in the belief that we can thrive without compromising the integrity of our natural surroundings.
The chosen site is a well-suited place to implement off-grid living in a suburban area. Employing off-grid strategies here is my solution to environmental challenges. By unplugging from the grid here, one gets full autonomy on their own residence, gets to live in harmony with the surrounding nature and strive towards a net positive environmental impact. The analytical site model is exaggerated in the vertical scale to emphasize and better understand the hilly terrain.
