Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

This study investigates differences in the experience of quality of life, loneliness, and anxiety among people living in urban areas versus rural areas over time and during the covid-19 pandemic. A questionnaire with questions about quality of life, loneliness and anxiety was distributed to informants via Facebook and Twitter on two occasions, the first in connection with the outbreak of the covid-19 pandemic and the second one year later. The results indicate a difference, where the variables of anxiety and loneliness are different between individuals living in urban areas versus rural areas onset of the pandemic. In the second measurement, taken one year after the pandemic began, are all variables - quality of life, anxiety, and loneliness separated on group comparisons. In a comparison, lower anxiety and loneliness and a higher quality of life are measured among residents in rural areas compared to residents in urban areas at both measurement occasions.
