Abstract [en]

This degree project has been done on behalf of Åtvidabergs Vatten AB. The objective of theproject is to give a platform for the municipality and future certification-, according to theREVAQ. Specific questions are: 1) What kinds of enterprises are connected to the sewagetreatment plant and how do they affect the quality of the sludge? 2) What kinds of chemicals,metals-, and ecologically harmful chemicals are released to the sewer from the enterprises andare there any connections between these chemicals and the quality of the sludge? 3) Whatsignificance do the enterprises have in relation to households and are there any significantsources of pollution? 4) Does the sludge meet the threshold values and demands that the lawand REVAQ require? The results from my literature studies, sludge analysis, inventory ofenterprises and products show that only smaller enterprises are connected to the sewagetreatment work and there are no one with significant discharge that have any impact on thesludge. There are only small amounts of chemicals that are discharged into the sewer. Thequality of the sludge that is produced at Håckla sewage treatment plant is within the range ofthe limitation values for metals with the notable exceptions of copper. Because the enterpriseshave such a small impact on the sludge, it would be interesting to investigate how muchimpact households have on the sludge.
