Significant environmental aspects for the real estate administrative sector
- Development of an identification tool
The aim of this work is to identify and describe the direct and indirect environmental aspects that are relevant to businesses in the real estate administrative sector in order to develop a tool to support them. This tool will help identify the significant environmental aspects of operations, and thereby make these companies aware of their environmental situation, so that they can improve or continue with the work and routines they have today. This study is based on previous studies where similar analyses were conducted. A summary of environmental aspects from companies in the real estate administrative sector, which are indicated during the introduction of an environmental management system, has been made. The emphasis in the study is on the environmental aspects that the companies indicate as being significant, for example, their use of energy, transports and the use of chemicals. The tool that have been developed are proposing measures in order to decrease the negative environmental influence of the aspects. The study show that all the environmental aspects are significant and that the companies have a lot to work with in order to make a difference. For example, it is important to follow the use of energy in a real estate by reading the meters, and thereby be able to identify a divergence from previous readings. The conclusion is that more studies have to be made in this area and that even an environmental aspect that may appear to be a small one can be significant.
