Abstract [en]

The purpose of this article is to promote the visibility of simulation as a possible data collection technique in educational research and to introduce the basics of a simulation-based research process grounded in relationistic ontology. The literature on the topic of simulation generally expresses a realistic philosophy that leads to certain decisions regarding the collection, analysis and justification of data. The relationistic simulation process results in other decisions, which hopefully can help to invigorate the development of simulation as a data collection technique and inspire researchers enrolled in post-modern traditions to consider the use of the technique in question.
