Fullerene Based Organic-Inorganic Bulk Heterojunction Exhibiting Rectifying Behavior

Abstract [en]

Composite thin films of organic semiconductor C-60 with an addition of inorganic semiconductor n-type CdS were prepared by the thermal evaporation method in the quasi-equilibrium conditions. Structure and surface morphology were investigated by the atomic force microscopy and Raman spectroscopy. The effects of the film composition on conductivity mechanisms of the films were investigated. The rectification ratio (ratio of the direct current at voltage V to the reverse current at the voltage-V) depends on both chemical composition and physical structure of the films. A transparent C-60-CdS heterojunction diode was fabricated exhibiting highly rectifying current voltage characteristics.
