Abstract [sv]

På uppdrag av Volvo Lastvagnar har detta examensarbete genomförts under våren 2013 för att undersöka potentialer av energibesparande åtgärder i måleriet. Syftet med uppdraget var att utveckla en energimodell över måleriet i byggnad UD, där användaren kan testa olika driftparametrar för att se måleriets potentiella besparingar ur en ekonomisk och energimässig synvinkel. 

Energimodellen byggdes i Microsoft Excel och arbetet innefattar tydliga redogörelser över de energikrävande processerna, samt över de data som ligger till grund för modellens beräkningar. Data över 2012 års driftsituation har använts som grunddata i modellen och analyser av dessa tyder på att stora energibesparande åtgärder är möjliga.

De lastbilshytter som lackeras i Line 3 är de i särklass dyraste, då Line 3 i dagsläget används väldigt ineffektivt. Av den maximala kapaciteten på 12,9 hytter per timme, använder Line 3 endast mellan 8 % och 15 %. Modelleringar visar att en reduktion av drifttiden på Line 3 från ca 95 timmar per vecka till 40 timmar per vecka skulle medföra en minskad driftkostnad på en dryg miljon kronor per år. Denna driftsituation ställer dock högre krav på logistik och planering. 

Abstract [en]

On behalf of Volvo Lastvagnar AB in Umeå, this master thesis has been implemented in the spring of 2013, to evaluate the potential for energy savings in the paint shop. The assignment was to develop an energy model of the paint shop in building UD, where users can try different drift parameters to find the most energy and cost efficient way of running the paint shop.

The energy model was developed in Microsoft Excel, and this thesis includes thorough explanations of the energy-intensive processes, as well as over the underlying data that the model is based on. The model is based on data logged during 2012, and analyses of these data shows great potential in energy savings.

The lorry cabs that are painted in Line 3 of the paint shop are by far the most expensive ones to paint, since this Line is used in a very inefficient manner. Compared to the maximum capacity of 12,9 painted compartments per hour, Line 3 only runs at between 8 % and 15 % of its capacity. When running the model, it shows that a reduction from around 90 hours a week to 40 hours a week would reduce the cost of operation with over a million SEK per year.
