ACT BEFORE: Ett hälsofrämjande gruppinterventionsprogram

Abstract [en]

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the health promoting group format intervention program we created and implemented. The program was named ACT BEFORE, and is based on Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Self Determination Theory. ACT BEFORE contains six group sessions. Three intervention groups was recruited; an elite athlete group, a municipality work group and a group where the participants all were waiting to see a psychologist. A controll group containing students was recruited. Data was collected on the first and the last session using the instruments General Health Questionnaire-12, Acceptance Action Questionnaire-II, Southampton Mindfulness Questionnaire and the Dart bord. The results show significant differences on all instruments between the interventiongroups as a whole and the control group. This indicates that ACT BEFORE is health promoting; it increases the subjective well-being, the psychological flexibility, mindfulness skills and commitment.

Abstract [sv]

Syftet med föreliggande studie var att utvärdera det hälsofrämjande gruppinterventionsprogram vi skapat och genomfört. Programmet fick namnet ACT BEFORE och är baserat på Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness samt Self Determination Theory. ACT BEFORE består av sex gruppträffar. Tre interventionsgrupper rekryterades till studien; en elitidrottsgrupp, en kommungrupp och en grupp med personer som samtliga väntar på att träffa psykolog rekryterades. Till kontrollgruppen rektyterades en klass studenter. Studien genomfördes med för- och eftermätning vid första och sista grupptillfället. Data insamlades med hjälp av självskattningsformulären General Health Questionnaire-12, Acceptance and Action Questionnaire-II, Southampton Mindfulness Questionnaire samt Piltavlan. Resultaten visar på signifikanta skillnader på samtliga självskattningsformulär mellan de tre interventionsgrupperna tillsammans och kontrollgruppen. Detta indikerar att ACT BEFORE är hälsofrämjande då det ökar deltagarens upplevda välbefinnande, ökar den psykologiska flexibiliteten, ökar mindfulness-färdigheter samt ökar deltagarens beteende i värderad riktning.
