The aim of this study was to analyze the Kalmar municipality and its surrounding County environmental quality goals based on priorities, budgeting and activities and to get an overview of how this work has changed over different periods of time and if there are any future visions for the goals. This study is based upon facts and information gathered from qualified and skilled professionals with extensive knowledge experience within the field of environmental quality goals and its related areas. To increase the validity of the study (using multiple data sources), data was also gathered from reports containing data about areas such as; finances (annual reports), energy plans and others related to environmental quality work. The result the study highlights is that cooperation with other municipalities and local people is vital to the success of projects and activities with environmental objectives, both economically and environmentally. It is important to prioritize and work with the environmental quality goals which in the current situation can bring about the largest and most effective environmental benefits. It can also be difficult to measure and see the results of the effort environmental work, it is therefore important to degrade environmental quality goals into smaller sub-goals, this makes it easier to track the current progress of the goal fulfillment. Most of the priority objectives of Kalmar municipality and county have shown good results, which has provided important knowledge that is worth continues efforts.
