Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

The purpose of the paper is to examine how schools handle student health with a focus on bullying, organization and steering documents. The research questions for the study is: How does the school handle potential bullying problems? How does the schools work with action programs/treatment plans? How does the school organization collaborate concern to student health? The study is qualitative with a hermeneutical approach. The research is conducted with interviews and has unstructured questions with opened answers. Six informants in five different schools where interviewed for the study. The results of the interviews are analyzed with the bureaucratic theory, knowledge organization theory and leadership’s theories. The results of the interviews shows that all schools deals with bullying problems in almost the same way. All of the schools contacts the involved children’s caregiver and convey private conversations with the bullies and the bullied. All the interviewed schools uses equality plans, these are designed by either the principle and/or the schools security teams, teachers or counselor. Only one school uses the educations departments recommended action plan for ongoing bullying. Remaining schools used an own designed action plan for bullying, usually combined with the proactive methods called Lion quest or FRIENDS “peers support”. All the interviewed schools thinks that the collaboration with student health works well, but that improvements can always be made. Often the student’s health team collaborate better than the cooperation with the remaining staff at the school.
