Abstract [en]

In this article the author discusses de-extinction, which is a process whereby the DNA of an extinct species is used to create an organism that is either a member of the extinct species or resembles it. Topics include the moral and ethical concerns of de-extinction, the strong institutional basis of reintroduction science in the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), and potential reintroduction conflicts.
