Abstract [en]

The aim of the study was to describe and analyze parent’s experiences of interaction with the professionals at a children’s habilitation centre from a special educational perspective.Communication, approach and influence were three subcategories that were chosen to investigate the parent’s experiences of interaction. Data was collected by a questionnaire survey complied with two personal interviews. The results implied that the parents overall were satisfied with the interaction with the professionals even though the result also indicated that there were rooms for improvements within some areas, especially regarding the parents abilities to affect decisions concerning their children. Another area of improvement was that the many of parents experienced some difficulties when trying to get in touch with the professionals. The parents´ experiences could not be categorized in one particular special educational perspective because the parent’s experiences varied due to different settings, meetings and so on.
