Developing a hydraulic system of a test rig (English)
Brunnspecialisten Sverige AB manufactures and sales manhole tops that are made of aluminum and composite material. All manhole tops for sale in the European Union have to fulfill the requirements set by the standard EN 124. A revised version of the standard which includes fatigue tests will be adopted in 2015.
The purpose of this work is to study and propose a hydraulic system for a test rig that will be used for testing the manhole tops according to the new standard. This will give Brunnspecialisten Sverige AB an opportunity to build its own test rig for carrying out the required tests.
The aim of this work is to develop a hydraulic system for the test rig that will be used for testing the manhole tops.
The main approach used during this project is studies in hydraulics and its applications. Various hydraulic components are studied in order to understand their application areas and find the appropriate ones for this project. Afterwards, market availability of the chosen components are checked and a material list is compiled. Finally the system is simulated to make sure it meets the requirements set by the standard.
This project resulted in hydraulic circuits solutions to control the rate of force application, pressure, and the control of flow direction. A pump and a cylinder are selected to provide enough hydraulic power to carry out the tests. Furthermore, advantages and disadvantages of the chosen components are discussed.
The resulting hydraulic circuit is classified and thus not included in this report.
