Supportive interventions in reading for students with reading difficulties : - A study on what focus reading comprehension has in supportive actions during the early school years (English)
Abstract [en]

The aim of this study was to investigate how some students in reading difficulties are motivated to read, and what support they get when it comes to reading comprehension. The data was collected through qualitative interviews with two class teachers and two special education teachers. The result indicate that the teachers seems to have an approach that students first have to learn to decode before the work with strategies for reading comprehension can begin and the main focus in special education is to train the students' decoding. The results also showed that the teachers use several methods to motivate students to read and most of these methods are substantiated by research.
