Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Organizational identification (OI) is strongly associated with employees’ psychological well-being and job performance. This study explores this association within a group of elder care employees in the north of Sweden and Catalonia, Spain. 166 Swedish and 353 Spanish managers and staff members from the elder care participated in the study that aimed to examine which demographic variables were connected to OI, if there was a correlation between managers and their staffs OI, and if OI can predict employees’ psychological health and quality of care. Main results show an association between OI and manager position as well as country origin. Manager OI was not associated with staff OI. OI was a significant predictor for both employees’ psychological health and quality of care. Potential explanations for the associations found, and the relevance of OI as and instrument in the work towards a better psychological health and quality of care is discussed, as well as generalizability and reliability of instruments.
