This is a small-scale study about teaching and learning word order in Swedish as L2 for adult learners. Through qualitative interviews teacher and learner views on the usefulness of a schema parsing were gathered. The study shows that the interviewed teachers have multiple different ways to teach word order, and they all use a schema parsing but for different purposes and at different stages. The students find the schema parsing useful, especially as a tool for collaborative work in class. The students suggest ways of teaching word order regularities and using the schema than the teachers in this study.
