Abstract [sv]

Abstract [en]

Previous studies have shown that engaged employees are positive for the organization, as well as engagement is good for the employee herself. A web survey was distributed to four student organizations to study what organizations can focus on to create engagement. The survey measured engagement, autonomous motivation, organizational climate and relationships at the workplace. A correlation study made on the 46 survey answers showed that all three earlier mentioned factors had positive relationships with engagement and the strongest relationship was found with the degree of autonomous motivation. An organization should therefore focus on a good organizational climate, good relationships and most importantly to create a climate where space is found for the employee’s autonomous motivation to grow. This can be achieved by making the employee feel a sense of competence, meningfullness and autonomy.
