Inkludering på gymnasiet: En studie bland elever i behov av särskilt stöd eller extra anpassningar

Abstract [en]

The aim of the study was to contribute knowledge about how students in need of special support or extra adjustments experiencing inclusion in the secondary school. The research questions investigated how students in need of special support or extra adjustments experienced inclusion in the organization and activities of the secondary school, how students in need of special support or extra adjustments experienced inclusion in the education in different subjects in the secondary school and how students in need of special support or extra adjustments experienced inclusion in the community of the class in the secondary school? The method used was a qualitative interview study with eight students in need of special support or extra adjustments in the age of 16-19 years. The results of the study show that all the informants felt it very important that the secondary school would be adapted to all the students who wished to continue their education there. All the students who were interviewed had a positive experience of secondary school, but their experiences of inclusion were varied. All informants felt that they were included in secondary school organization and activities because they belonged to a class, but both informants' experiences, the study's theoretical basis and the previous research presented in the background of the study shows that inclusion means more than that. Two of the study´s conclusion is that the adaptation and accessibility are important conditions for student´s experiences of inclusion in the secondary school and that it is important for students to be included in a class to experience themselves included in the secondary school.
