Abstract [en]

The intention with this thesis is to provide a picture of the employment-rate among foreign-born in urban and rural areas in Sweden by using current data from Statistics Sweden and to compare the employment-rate among foreign born to the total population. The research questions will be addressed with a quantitative approach using data from Statistical Sweden registry database. This thesis contributes to knowledge about differences in employment-rate among foreign born and Swedish natives. It is visible in the results that there are differences in employment-rate between foreign-born in urban and rural areas with an employment-rate that generally are higher among foreign-born who lives in urban areas than those who lives in rural areas. The opposite relationship is found among the total population with a higher employment rate in rural areas than in urban.
