Abstract [en]

The purpose of the study is to develop the research on successful blogging in Sweden. A qualitative content analysis with an inductive approach was used to analyse the content in three of Sweden’s absolutely most successful bloggers, measured in the total number of readers per IP-address and hour the last 7 days according to Bloggportalen (2015). The results show that there are many new specific strategies to consider possible among these bloggers and the overall theme that lies behind all of these are the property to serve as a role model and a mentor within chosen areas. With the empirical data obtained, it has also been of interest to provide an overview of the use of strategies from previous research, to create a holistic strategy image and to better define the level of quality their blogs reach. This was obtained by using the theoretical framework to analyse the empirical data. The bloggers deliver a wide content with a high level of quality within their core blogging themes. That, in combination with use of strategies from earlier research and the discovered new strategies, make the bloggers appear trustworthy and authoritative within these areas. The mentorship allows them to inspire and guide the readers through relevant themes and therefor the readers look up to them, their skills and knowledge.
