Abstract [en]

There is a common problem with destinations in rural areas and public transport. Normally public transport is not so available in rural areas compared to urban areas. And while the countries in the entire world are trying to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions, visitors still need to drive with their own car to destinations in rural areas. In this case study I am seeking answers if the reason they drive with their own car to a destination (where there is possibilities to use public transport and save the environment), is because they are unaware of the possibilities with public transport or if they rather drive their own car because the feeling of freedom and flexibilty. The result is that 100 % of the the visitors that participated in this study did go by car to Granö Beckasin (the case of this study). And most of them would like to continue with that, although they are aware and consider them self dedicated with decreasing the human effect on environment and climate change. The data collected is too less for generealizing, but in the result part I am still doing an overview about the collected data. In the discussion part I am analyzing what could have been done better and maybe evantuated in more respondents. I also mention tip for what I think could be useful when making a similar study.
