    Den här uppsatsen behandlar den brittiske tänkaren Aleister Crowley, hans tolkning avyoga, och hans tankars påverkan på moderna efterföljare av hans religion i Sverige.Uppsatsen behandlar frågorna om hur Crowleys syn på yoga utvecklats och hur denkan ses i svenska efterföljares tankar idag. Uppsatsen använder sig av litteraturstudierav Crowleys verk, samt intervjuer med medlemmar i ordern Ordo Templi OrientisSverige. Uppsatsen utmynnar i att Crowleys tankar om yoga kan ses i sin historiskakontext påverkad av bland annat orientalism och religionism, och att Crowleys tankarfortsätter påverka moderna utövare av yoga inom O.T.O.

    Abstract [sv]

    Denna studie syftar till att undersöka vad blivande lärare och aktiva lärare har för attityder tillskolavslutning och högtidsfirande i kyrkan samt skolavslutning och högtidsfirande i kyrkan medkonfessionella inslag. Studien baseras på en internetenkät som blivande lärare och aktiva läraresvarat på. Resultatet visar att den största andelen av de aktiva lärarna och blivande lärarna varpositiva till vistelsen i kyrkolokalerna i samband med skolavslutningar och högtidsfirande. Denstörsta andelen var däremot negativa till företeelsen med konfessionella inslag vid dessahögtidsfiranden. Äldre aktiva lärare och blivande lärare var i högre grad positiva till bådevistelsen i kyrkan och de konfessionella inslagen än de yngre. Slutsatserna är att sekulariseringeni Sverige ser ut att fortsätta i linje med de reviderade sekulariseringsteorierna, då konfessionalitetinte länge ses som något önskvärt bland den största andelen av aktiva lärare och blivande lärare.Dock finns det också nämnvärda avvikelser från detta mönster. Kyrkan fortsätter samtidigt ha ensekulär, traditionsbunden roll i skolan och är därför fortfarande relevant.

    Abstract [en]

    This is a comparative literature study between two children’s bibles and the Swedish Bible. The study compares three stories from the Bible with the children’s bible versions of them. The purpose of the study is to see whether God is portrayed differently in the children’s bibles, and if so, in what way. The study uses narrtology to analyze the chosen texts and a hermeneutical frame of interpretation to ascertain what the difference between the versions of the same story is and if and how this effects the meaning, message or image of God conveyed by the original text. The study finds that many liberties have been taken with the original stories, the most frequent of which being different form of censorship. This is achieved by excluding violent and/or cruel parts of the stories in the children’s bible versions, or adding elements such as descriptions of positive emotions to God’s actions or enhancing the bond between God and other agents of the story.

    The study is largely based on the work of Sören Dalevi and his dissertation Gud som haver barnen kär – Barnsyn, gudsbild och Jesusbild i Barnens bibel och Bibeln I berättelser och bilder, but this study is conducted on a much lower level and smaller scale.

    Abstract [en]

    The term incel stands for involuntary celibacy and in recent years an internet culture has emerged where self-identifying incels have created their own terminology and community. Most research on incels focuses on mental health, violence and misogyny. No previous research has been done on incels and religion. Through this study, I intend to contribute to an increased understanding of the incel milieu with the, so far, unique perspective on religious expressions within the incel environment. The purpose of this essay is to investigate which religious expressions are represented among self-identified incels on the internet forum incels.is and in which contexts these are expressed during the years 2019-2024. I have used Kozinet's netnographic method to collect the data, which showed that religious expressions were above all used as 1) an explanation for why inceldom is a fact and 2) as the solution to inceldom. The analysis shows that belief in God is not the main reason for advocating religious systems. It is more often about a counter-cultural perspective where it is believed that religion has a favorable view of women, the family and sex. It also emerged that certain religious decisions, such as conversion, depend on a rational choice. Finally, religion is also shown to create meaning and purpose for some incels in this life or in death, where religion offers them either a way to deal with the difficult life situation they find themselves in, or to strengthen their self-esteem by, for example, looking up to Jesus as a role model because he was an "volcel".

    Detta arbete i religionsvetenskap har sökt finna svaret på hur svensk kristdemokrati harförändrats över tid med avseende på dess förhållande till begreppen kristen och kristendom.Källmaterialet har utgjorts av partiprogram, och dessa har undersökts för att ringa införekomst och kontext av ovan nämnda begrepp. Avsikten har varit att ta reda på partietsförhållningssätt till just det begrepp man en gång enades kring när man valde att ta sig anrikspolitiken — nämligen kristendomen. Dels görs en kvantitativ sammanställning, delsundersöks de sammanhang där orden används och om dessa har ändrats med åren. Följandearbete utgår från av KDS och KD utformade partiprogram från varje decennium sedan1960-talet och fram till 2015. Resultatet av studien visar att senare tiders KD har behållitkopplingen till det kristna i programtexterna, men att man har gått från en normativ kristenframtoning till en kristen etik av deskriptiv karaktär.2

    Abstract [en]

    According to the World Health Organisation, one in six of the adult population of the world are affected by infertility. Beside the physical implication of infertility and treatment, infertility negatively impacts the mental, emotional, sexual, and spiritual health in women. The aim of this study was to explore the experience of women going through infertility in relation to religious/spiritual coping. This study is a qualitative metasynthesis with a meta-ethnographic approach, which includes interpretative translations of findings from 16 empirical, qualitative studies. Four overarching themes were identified: practices & community support for coping; religious & spiritual explanations for infertility; negative religion coping & ART objection; trust & religious/spiritual surrender. The conclusion of this study is that religion/spirituality provides strategies that help women cope with infertility. At the same time, religious beliefs and communities can add to the stress and isolation, and the experience can lead to questioning one’s faith and the existence of God.

    Abstract [en]

    Infertility can impact individuals and couples negatively on an emotional, psychological, and spiritual level, and there are scarce resources for support in the healthcare system and society. Studies around infertility have found that women and couples benefit from religious/spiritual coping, and there are religious/spiritual organisations that provide support. This digital ethnography study with a thematic analysis, included two Christian, two Jewish, and two holistic/spiritual organisations and their websites, to map out the types of support provided, how the support is communicated, and the similarities and differences between them. Five themes were found: God/The Divine, The Congregations/Leaders/Community, The Individual/Couple, and The Medical Aspects and Treatment, Support and Donations. The conclusion of this study is that the organisations providing religious/spiritual support play an important role in bridging the infertility support gap in the healthcare system and society.

    Abstract [en]

    This article analyzes the use of metaphysics to speak of God within theology. More specifically, the charge of ontotheology levelled against Thomas Aquinas, in particular by Jean-Luc Marion and John Caputo, are being analyzed and criticized, not only with the help of thinkers like John Knasas and W. Norris Clarke, but also Marion himself. Because this article also examines the change of heart that Marion had about Aquinas's metaphysics during the 1990s, his position now being that Aquinas was not a producer of ontotheology. However, the article also asks a specific question of whether there can be a metaphysics that safeguards an objective standard for our knowledge and assertions, but that does not reduce the divine mystery to the categories of human reason, something that ontotheology allegedly does. With this question in mind, I examine Erich Przywara's version of the doctrine of the analogy of being, that he derived from Aquinas, and which he developed, at least in part, to answer Karl Barth's criticism against this doctrine. I look specifically at his idea of essence in-and-beyond existence, which describes a dynamic in our ontological constitution that Przywara sees as fundamental for all contingent existence. Other parts of his doctrine that are mentioned are the difference between "philosophical metaphysics" and "theological metaphysics" and the idea of the principle of non-contradiction as "negative reductive formality". My conclusion is that although Przywara's doctrine avoids the charge of ontotheology, it does not suffice as a metaphysic that offers an objective standard.

    Svenska kyrkans undervisning och dopundervisning beskrivs vara centrala i hela kyrkans väsen. Denna studie har syftat till att undersöka ideologisk grund för den religiösa praktiken att undervisa. Studien har belyst Svenska kyrkans praktik med teoretiska perspektiv utifrån ett antal officiella dokument. Det som kommer fram är vilken syn som finns på kunskap, kyrkan, lärande och undervisning.

    Svenska kyrkan står mitt i utmaningen att möta människor i olika åldrar med både fördomar, oförståelse och ibland inga erfarenheter alls av kyrkans språk. Därtill är Svenska kyrkans uppdrag, enligt lagen om Svenska kyrkan, att undervisa som evangelisk-lutersk folkkyrka i ett postsekulärt samhälle. Kan Svenska kyrkan genom att se på sig själv som kunskapsinstitution vara till stöd i ett mångreligiöst samhälle. En kyrka med bred kompetens kring lärande och undervisning och förståelsen för religiöst språk som bidrar till minskad polarisering och motverkar fördomar.

    Abstract [en]

    In this essay I discuss the occurrence of religious experiences from a psychological- and constructionist point of view. To be more precise I am interested in the presence of God. Why some people experience Gos as present, while he is deemed absent and irrelevant according to others. In search of an answer I have turned toward Tanya Luhrmanns research regarding the upkeep of ones ”faith frame” as well as the importance of religious narratives. Based upon my own compilation of previous research studies, tied to a theoretical analysis of Alices religious experience, I have found that we are all able to (1) experience narrative transportation, (2) absorb the content of religious narratives, and (3) live in alignment with our personal paracosm. These three are accomplished through a variety of cognitive-, psychological- and narrative mechanisms. And as so I put forth and advance the following proposition. Perhaps our experiences of Gods presence, including Alices, can be understood as the result of our human ability to live our lives in stories. While our experiences of Gods absence and irrelevance can be viewed through its complexities

    Studien analyserar yōkai-varelsen kitsunes relation till gudomen Inari utifrån fem japanskafolksagor, med avsikt att bidra med ökad förståelse för yōkai-varelsens relation till gudomen.Källmaterialet, det vill säga folksagorna, innefattar The Foxe´s Wedding, The Grateful Foxes, Visuthe Woodsman and the Old Priest, The Magic Hood with Eight Disguises samt Inari Answers aWoman´s Prayer. Analysen grundar sig på en kvalitativ- samt en komparativ textanalys med fokuspå sociala relationer i förhållande till yōkai-varelsen. Resultatet av studien visar på fem egenskapersom karakteriserar yōkai-varelsens och gudomens relation. Studien rekommenderas för studerandeinom ämnet religionsvetenskap, samt läsare med ett intresse för japanska folksagor eller yōkaikulturen.

    Protestant Periodicals in Transition: From the Twentieth Century to the Digital Age demarcates the field of religious periodical studies by offering a range of historical and contemporary case studies from different Protestant traditions drawn from various regions of the world. Taking religion, periodicals, and their cultures seriously, this volume focuses not only on content but on the people, processes, networks, technologies, and economics involved in periodical publishing. Case studies explore the role of the Protestant magazine in defining, policing, and extending the boundaries of religious communities, of engaging with and influencing the surrounding society through political activism and lifestyle advice, and adapting to and sometimes spearheading technological changes to keep relevant in changing times.

    Genom en komparativ metod har likheter och skillnader i det diakonala arbetet i förhållandetill varandra påvisats utifrån läsning av diakonipastoraler vilka ingår i församlingens/pastoratets styrdokument. Intresset för diakonipastoraler har sitt ursprung i en vilja att se likheter och olikheter i detdiakonala arbetet på ett övergripande plan i Svenska kyrkan eftersom det diakonala arbetetkan se olika ut beroende på miljö, medarbetare och inte minst församlingens/pastoratetskontext.

    I undersökningen ingår sex diakonipastoraler vilka efter noggrann läsning har systematiseratsoch delats in i olika kategorier. Resultatet från undersökningen av diakonipastoralerna harställts mot adekvat litteratur, inte minst Ett biskopsbrev om diakoni: Biskopsmötet 2015.

    Undersökningen visar att diakoni motiveras som en kärlekens gärning och är helaförsamlingens/ pastoratets ansvar där tro gestaltas i ord och handling.Flertalet pastoraler poängterar att människan, som ses som en Guds avbild, ska respekterasoch ha makt att vara med och påverka sin egen situation och sitt liv även om hen söker endiakonal hjälpinsats.

    Den här studien undersöker vilka politiska frågor som styrt samerna under perioden 1880 till 1913 och hur undervisningen av samerna bedrevs. Studien tar upp den politik som fördes och hur den påverkade samerna, deras levnadsförhållanden och skolgång. Granskningen går också igenom vad samerna skulle undervisas i. Vad som också tas upp är vilket material som användes vid undervisningen av samerna och vilka syften som fanns bakom valet av material. Fokus finns på en skola placerad i svenska Jämtland och hur de samiska eleverna upplevde det att gå där samt hur deras levnadsförhållanden vid skolan var. Vad som framkommer genom denna undersökning är hur samerna behandlats av den svenska staten och kyrkan genom historien. Den kommer också att visa att undervisningen av samerna inte var så annorlunda mot undervisningen av svenska barn.

    Uppsatsens syfte är att kvalitativt undersöka bönens funktioner och praktik inom kristendom och islam. Analysen tar utgångspunkt från Froese och Jones religionsociologiska teori samt analysera likheter och skillnader mellan de två religionernas bön. Uppsatsens tre frågeställningar är: 1. Hur praktiseras bönen inom kristendom och islam? 2. Vilka funktioner fyller bönen inom kristendom och islam? 3. Vilka likheter och skillnader finns det av bönen som fenomen inom kristendomen och islam utifrån Froese och Jones dimensioner? Materialet inkluderar tre avhandlingar som är skrivna av Thomas Lindgren, Björn Wiedel och Adam Ehrmantraut samt kurslitteratur av Susanne Olsson och Simon Sorgenfrei. Resultaten visar att bönen tar sig liknande uttryck bland kristna och muslimer, men en påtaglig skillnad är att den muslimska bönen är betydligt mer regelstyrd än den kristna. Bönens funktion är däremot väldigt lik mellan de två religionerna genom att bönen skapar gemenskap och möjliggör kommunikation med gud.

"To name god with masculine pronoun influence individuals and theirgodrepresentation" is my main hypothesis of this work.     The aim of this study is to analyze how students notice and understand confessional and non-confessional teaching, and how they perceive Lived Religion in the classroom. This study uses a Qualitative research method by gathering data through interviews with informants and later analyzing the material by using Englund’s theory Offer of Meaning and McGuire’s concept Lived Religion. The result discloses a non-confessionalism Offer of Meaning, where the teacher has a secular view of religion and conveys that in the classroom. Whereas the students are generally open to the use of more confessional teaching, although the students will not be pressured or forced to do anything with religion.The study also reveals that the students require more Lived Religion in the classroom to observe different views of religion.

    Målet med denna uppsats är att undersöka två EFS-föreningar som befinner sig i väckelse under 1950-talet. Det som studeras är hur styrelserna i Hortlax och Blåsmarks föreningar uttrycker sin självbild och gudsrelation i de verksamhetsberättelser som skrivs inför och presenteras vid föreningarnas årsmöten. Materialet undersöks med en kvalitativ innehållsanalys. Därefter anläggs Hjalmar Sundéns rollteori för att besvara syftet. Studien kommer fram till att styrelserna ger uttryck för en negativ självbild, som kan ha att göra med synen på människan som fallen. De behöver därför en nära relation med Gud. Resultatet visar även på att bibelorden får en tydlig funktion för styrelsemedlemmarna. Det genom att de sätter sig in i olika roller för att kunna tolka sin situation religiöst.

    Läroplanen kan realiseras i klassrummet på olika sätt eftersom lärarens kunskap och värderingar påverkar tolkningen. Detta innebär att skrivningar i läroplanen kommer tolkas olika av olika lärare. Syftet med denna studie är att skapa en förståelse för hur ämneslärarstudenter tolkar värdegrundsuppdraget med avgränsar till formuleringen ”i överensstämmelse med den etik som är förvaltad av kristen tradition” (lgr 22). Studien är en kvalitativ studie där sju ämneslärarstudenter har intervjuats. Resultatet analyseras utifrån läroplansteori samt sekulariseringsteori. Resultatet visar att skrivningen i läroplanen tolkas olika baserat på olika faktorer inom både läroplansteori och sekulariseringsteori.

    Vad hände med leopardens döttrar? En kulturpsykologisk analys av kvinnorollen inom Bénin och Togos Vodoukult. (What happened to the daughters of the Leopard? A cultural psychological analysis of the role of women in Bénin and Togo´s Vodoucult). Syftet med studien var att öka förståelsen för hur Vodoukulten kan bidra till hur kvinnorollen uttrycks och manifesteras. Det uppnåddes genom kvinnornas och andra utövares berättelser, samt iakttagelser av hur rollen uttrycktes i kulten och om det bidrog till eller frigjorde kvinnorna från etablerade könsroller. Studien utgick från Kvale & Brinkmanns intervjumetodik. Intervjuerna med informanterna och observationerna var viktiga för förståelsen av hur kulturen formade deltagarnas uppfattning om sig själv, samhället och religionen. Undersökningen utgick från Belzens tolkning av kulturpsykologi, Bourdieus teori om habitus, samt Lacans symbolic order. Studien tar också upp genus som Sky definierar den. Slutsatsen blev att kvinnor bidrar till formandet av sin roll inom Vodoun och att Vodoun är rigid när det kommer till könsroller.

    When President George W. Bush on September 11, 2001, said that USA was targeted because they were the beacon of light of justice and democracy in the world - and that those who conducted the attack were opposed to everything it entailed, he took the first step towards totalization and its handmaiden radicalization, as Lifton and Moghaddam describes it. The aim of this study is to explain the consequence’s when he labelled the act as a war instead of a criminal act and put forward that it was a deliberate rhetorical choice to detach the event from previous political and economic events. The word “war” frightens us and outmanoeuvre our rational thinking by activating adaptations such as predator-, pest- and infection control systems. These adaptations can be used in propaganda that are part of epideictic contexts where leaders want to arouse feelings for a favoured action and act on them. Fear becomes horror when propaganda dresses the conflict in apocalyptic terms. With the expression: "you are either with us, or with the terrorists", Bush created a thought-stopping cliché that prevented both self-reflection and alternative interpretations of the situation, thus helped free the monster within US-citizens and allies.

    Abstract [en]

    The book gives a detailed overview of relevant traditional indigenous Sámi myths, beliefs and rituals based on empirical findings. The author inquires whether and how they are related to an ecologically sustainable use of the natural environment. Her main sources are ancient missionary texts, writings by Sámi and contemporary interviews with Sámi individuals. The traditional value system included ecological sustainability as a survival strategy. Beliefs and rituals, transmitted via stories, incorporated these values and transmitted a feeling of a round life, despite the strict rules for right behavior and punishment for transgressions. The term round symbolized a sense of safety, interconnectedness, reliance on mutual help and respect, identification and empathy with all living beings.

    What constitutes ethical behaviour within and among research related to First Nations? This text was born out of an urge to explore the challenges faced by ethnically non-indigenous researchers who wish to study a living indigenous culture in a way that contributes not only to increasing knowledge but also to improving indigenous communities' living conditions. The present article does not to seek to provide conclusive answers. Instead, it aspires to discuss some issues raised in relevant decolonizing literature and reflect on the challenges they raise.  The texts provides an overview over past and present critical discussions on research ethics in projects related to the indigenous Sami people in Scandinavia. It gives special attention to the perspectives of ethnically non- indigenous master- and doctoral students.

    Abstract [en]

    In this introduction, we reflect on the relationship between religion and memory, a subfield that should, as we argue, become more visible within memory studies. First, we show how religion was originally conceptualized by the founders of memory studies and how it is being discussed today by contemporary memory scholars. Second, we demonstrate the memory-forming potential of religion. Finally, we call for a postsecular turn in memory studies. We claim that such a critical turn could help memory scholars be more reflective and become more aware of the religious roots of the concepts they are using when they approach memory. It would also help them to grasp how much the religious and the secular interwind in the memory processes occurring in the heterogenous societies of the present-day world.

    Abstract [en]

    The book argues that religion is a system of significant meanings that have an impact on other systems and spheres of social life, including cultural memory.

    The editors call for a postsecular turn in memory studies which would provide a more reflective and meaningful approach to the constant interplay between the religious and the secular. This opens up new perspectives on the intersection of memory and religion and helps memory scholars become more aware of the religious roots of the language they are using in their studies of memory. By drawing on examples from different parts of the world, the contributors to this volume explain how the interactions between the religious and the secular produce new memory forms and content in the heterogenous societies of the present-day world. These analyzed cases demonstrate that religion has a significant impact on cultural memory, family memory and the contemporary politics of history in secularized societies. At the same time, politics, grassroots movements and different secular agents and processes have so much influence on the formation of memory by religious actors that even religious, ecclesiastic and confessional memories are affected by the secular.

    This volume is ideal for students and scholars of memory studies, religious studies and history.
