In a longer series of interviews documenting storyteller Karl Bergqvist, he avoided the traditional entertaining hunting stories, claiming not to be a “big hunter”. Instead, he chose to tell stories of “the last” bear, wolf, and beaver being shot in his home region, thus holding on to the role of nar-rator of societal changes and ways of living during the 20th century. These stories allowed him to comment on people and their characteristics, as well as show his knowledge of wild animals and their behaviour. However, he also integrates these stories into discourse on changes in ecology and larger social structures, thereby elevating the significance of local occur-rences to a broader level.

Political party practices, positionings and profiles in Sweden’s 1970’s music movement The aim is to show how Swedish left-wing parties in the 1970’s used music and related to the “progressive music movement” which grew strong in the decade, gathering many young people around music and music production with a left-wing attitude. The study shows how Maoist-influenced parties SKP and KFML-r initially favoured songs for meetings and demonstrations, tried to handle the unplanned sympathies they gained in the music movement by promoting their own paroles for culture work, eventually landing in an anti-imperialist critique of the use of rock music and thus alienating themselves from the music movement. A conclusion made is the lack of understanding of the infrastructural changes of music in society (the normality of recorded music, the rise of the independent authentic artist role) that made the political parties reject potential collaborators and supporters.

The clergyman Pehr Stenberg (1758–1824) in his autobiography frequently relates his andother people’s dreams and attempts to interpret them and makes possible connections to actual happenings. As a scholar he is sceptical about their knowledge value but cannot reject them entirely, so he goes into exploratory discussions of the relation between dreams and reality. In this article the use of dream narratives in social interaction, his use of dreams as a rhetorical device, his reactions to his dreams and reflections about his reactions are studied, besides his ways of discussing the ontology of dreams.
