Abstract [sv]
Syfte och mål: Målet för hela projektet (alla steg) är: De urinvägskatetrar som har utvecklats och testats inom projektet svarar mot affärsmässiga och mänskliga behov och används inom vården. I Steg 1 har ett interdiciplinärt projektkonsortium skapats och en kreativ process utförts för att finna nya lösningar på identifierade behov kopplat till urinvägskatetrar. I processen har medicin, materialvetenskap och design länkats samman och flera olika konceptideer tagits fram riktade mot olika patientgrupper. Förväntade effekter och resultat: Efter Steg 1 har vi uppnått en högre mognadsgrad i projektidéerna och kommer under våren patentera tre koncept som framkommit under den kreativa processen i Steg 1. Marknadsundersökningen samt undersökningen om regulatoriska aspekter har resulterat i att vi identifierat en stark industriell partner som vi i dagsläget påbörjat samtal med. Detta samtal baseras på de konceptideer som framkommit under Steg 1 och förväntas leda till ett samarbetsprojekt och utvidgat projektkonsortium. Upplägg och genomförande: Projektets parter har mycket komplementerande expertis vilket möjliggjorde en lyckad kreativ process där ett flertal olika konceptidéer kom fram. Dessa utvärderades utifrån medicinska och produktionstekniska aspekter. Med hjälp av avtal har projektet säkerställt att koncepten kan vidareutvecklas under nästa steg. Aktiviteterna som utfördes under projektet gav goda möjligheter att identifiera passande industriella parter för projektet. Ansökan för Steg 2 planeras inlämnas vid nästkommande utlysning.
Abstract [en]
Purpose and goal: The goal of the complete project is that the urinary catheters developed and tested within the project answers to human and market needs and are used in health care. In Step 1 an interdisciplinary consortium has been formed and a creative process started with the aim to find solutions to needs connected to infection of urinary catheters. In this process medicine, material science and design has been linked and several concept ideas have emerged directed to different groups of patients. Expected results and effects: After Step 1 the project ideas have matured we will patent three concept ideas that emerged during the creative process in Step 1. The evaluation of different market aspects and the investigation of regulatory aspects have resulted in that we have identified a strong industrial partner with whom we have initiated discussions. These discussions are based on the concept ideas that arose during Step 1 and are expected to lead to a future collaboration project and a broadened consortium. Approach and implementation: The partners of the project had highly complementary expertise enabling a successful and creative process giving rise to several concepts. These were evaluated from medicinal as well as technical production aspects. With the aid of written agreements, the project has ensured that the concepts can be further developed in Step 2. The activities performed gave a good base for identifying a suitable industrial partner for the continuation of the project. Application for Step 2 will be filed in the next round of calls.
