Title [sv]
Hälso- och ekonomiska effekter av ett generellt hälsofrämjande program för barn och föräldrar
Title [en]
Health and economic impact of a population based health promotion programme for children and parents
Abstract [sv]
Health promotion during childhood has become a challenging public health concern. The overall aim of this project is to evaluate the effectiveness, costs and cost-effectiveness of the Salut Programme; a multi-sectorial population-based child health promotion programme implemented in Västerbotten County in northern Sweden. Developing a framework for health economic evaluation of public health interventions targeting children will be fundamental. The specific objectives are: i) to assess the effect on child and parental outcomes, ii) to estimate the societal costs and calculate short-term cost-effectiveness and iii) to model the long-term effectiveness and cost effectiveness. We will focus on evaluating the Salut Programme’s Module I (the unborn child) and Module II (0 to 1¬Ω years), initiated in 2005 (pilot areas) and implemented countywide since 2010. We will use a quasi-experimental design comparing intervention conditions (I1 and I2), and a control condition (C). Outcomes will be obtained from 2005, 2008
