Bakgrund: Operationssalar är tekniskt avancerade och komplexa kliniska miljöer. För att kunna utföra god och säker vård i denna miljö krävs en välfungerande teamsamverkan. En av specialistsjuksköterskans kärnkompetenser är förmågan att samverka i team, vilket förutsätter god kommunikation och hög psykologisk trygghet för att samarbetet ska fungera väl.

Motiv: Bristande kommunikation och negativa attityder kan riskera patientsäkerheten och även leda till en försämrad arbetsmiljö. I det perioperativa arbetet där flera professioner samverkar under tidspress är öppenhet, respekt för varandras kompetens och tydliga mål centrala för att teamet ska fungera väl. För att möta dessa utmaningar krävs ökad förståelse för hur teammedlemmar upplever kommunikation och samverkan i operationssalen.

Syfte: Syftet med studien var att undersöka hur olika aspekter av kommunikation och attityder inom operationsteam påverkar upplevelsen av fungerande samverkan. 

Metod: En enkätstudie med kvantitativ design med ett icke-sannolikhetsurval gjordes. 149 personer deltog i studien. Data analyserades i JAMOVI med hjälp av t-test, ANOVA och Pearsons korrelationsanalys för index och variabler. 

Resultat: Ett positivt samband fanns mellan öppenhet och respekt för varandra i teamet och upplevelsen att samverkan i teamet fungerar väl. Det fanns även ett positivt samband mellan teamets kommunikativa klimat och upplevelsen att samverkan i teamet fungerar väl. Ett negativt samband fanns mellan negativa attityder och bristande kommunikation i teamet och upplevelsen att samverkan i teamet fungerar väl.

Konklusion: Resultatet visar att teamets samverkan påverkas av teammedlemmarnas kommunikativa förmågor och vilken attityd de har mot varandra. Personalens upplevelse av en god arbetsmiljö påverkas av välfungerande teamsamverkan, vilket är en viktig del för att kunna rekrytera och bibehålla personal.

Background: Operating rooms are technologically advanced and complex clinical environments. To provide safe and high-quality care in this setting, effective teamwork is essential. One of the specialist nurse’s core competencies is the ability to collaborate within a team, which requires good communication and a high level of psychological safety for collaboration to function well.

Motive: Deficient communication and negative attitudes may endanger patient safety and also lead to a deteriorated work environment. In perioperative work where several professions collaborate under time pressure, openness, respect for each other’s expertise, and clear goals are central for effective teamwork. To meet these challenges, an increased understanding of how team members perceive communication and collaboration in the operating room is needed.

Aim: The aim of the study was to examine how different aspects of communication and attitudes within the surgical team influence the perception of effective collaboration.

Methods: A quantitative study with a non-probability sample was conducted. A total of 149 participants took part in the study. Data were analysed in JAMOVI using t-tests, ANOVA and Pearson’s correlation analysis for indices and variables. 

Result: A positive correlation was found between openness and mutual respect within the team and the perception that collaboration functions well. There was also a positive correlation between the communicative climate and the perception of effective teamwork. A negative correlation was found between negative attitudes and poor communication withing the team and the perception of effective collaboration.

Conclusion: The results show that team collaboration is influenced by team members’ communicative abilities and the attitudes they hold toward one another. Staff’s perceptions of a good work environment are affected by well-functioning teamwork, which is an important factor in retaining and recruiting new personnel.
