The purpose of this paper is to point out what could be lost in a culture of higher education (HE) development characterised by a quality discourse (Fjellström, 2007; Segerholm, 2012). In a long term case study of a locally initiated participative stakeholder evaluation (supporting a curriculum change) three research questions has been explored. [1] What are the participants’ experiences of participation? [2] How does the evaluation strategy enable participation in the developmental work and [3] what are the benefits of the participation?
