Paintings originated from a combination of analogue and digital drawing/painting techniques printed on cotton rag
In this series I am exploring the intersection and possibilities between analogue and digital media. These three images depict me, my mum and my grandma. Analogous led pencil portrait from drawings of us at the same age, digitalised and combined with digital watercolour. When finished, I printed them on fine art etching paper before adding the final touches by hand.
The theme I am exploring in these art works is generations of women, captured in the same age. Artworks originating from photos taken exactly 28 years apart, showing a glimpse of time through hairstyle and pose. Each person is then portrayed in colours and associations such as animals and plants which I relate to their identity.
