The study aims to study policeofficers' perception of the implementation of the collection mission "inhämtningsuppdraget", in terms of the possibility of making correct assessments. The collection task includes several steps, of which the first must be carried out by all locla police areas. In previous research, it has emerged that the assessments made by the officers may be subjective, which leads to the risk of under- and over-reporting. 

The study has been conducted with a qualitative approach, and a number of semi-structured interviews have been conducted with policeofficers operation in the North region. The material has been analyzed with thematic analysis and put in relation to the theory of situational awareness. It appears in the study that the majority of respndents believe that they already know the outcome of the information the report, before the acquisition is carried out. It also appears that there are different prerequisites for creating a high degree of situational awareness based on internal and external information exchange.
