The purpose of this chapter is to contribute knowledge about how teachers in Swedish rural schools, via a digital network, develop collabora-tions with a focus on professional development. The theoretical perspective is based on cultural historical theory with a focus on professional collabo-rations, which helps to answer the purpose. The concepts of collaboration, learning and professional development are focused. Recorded audio recordings were transcribed and analysed using Reflexive Thematic Analysis (RTA). The analysis results show five meaningful themes: 1) The formation of the rural school network, 2) The network participants’ work with framework factors, 3) Participant-driven needs, 4) New knowledge is demanded and 5) Collegial collaboration. The results show the importance of coordination, similar meeting structure and a democratic conversation model, which provides the conditions for collegial exchanges and collaborations.
