With more students, less government resources and increasing demands for quality and efficiency control in academia, the need for educational leadership and change management is substantial. A fundamental part of an educational leadership is to create conditions for a creative and dynamic university culture. The Umeå University management has over the past 5 years allocated 7.3 million SEK to implement a number of projects in higher education. The premise is that high quality education requires high quality teachers. In this paper, we would like to highlight some approaches to educational leadership and quality enhancement at the university level.
